Marigold is more than a neighbourhood,
we're a community

Co-operative housing is people coming together to provide affordable housing for themselves. Find out if you’re suited to Marigold Housing Co-operative.

Marigold is the largest housing co‑operative on Vancouver Island. We have 86 two to four bedroom units housed in 13 buildings on three small private roads.

Marigold offers well looked after, affordable townhomes, complete with professionally manicured grounds and playground for the children. Marigold is a “continuing” housing co-operative, which means members jointly own their own multiple family housing and individually lease their units to themselves at cost. As our members are all considered landlords, we all have a responsibility to ourselves, our neighbours, and our property.

A Unique Type of Homeownership

Being a co-op member means having control over your housing. It also means you have a responsibility to make sure that your co-op is a well-managed and pleasant place to live.

Before you apply to become a member, you need to ask yourself if you will have the time and energy to participate in your co-op.
